Cold alone is rarely the problem – it gets cold when wind and wet join in. A soaked layer loses its warmth, and the wind then chills you particularly fast.
Protection against rain and wind
- A windproof layer: A windproof mid-layer keeps the warmth close to your body.
- Rain suit on top: If your gear isn't waterproof, a rain layer belongs in your luggage.
- Change into something dry: A dry spare layer at the break can save the day.
If you stay dry and warm, you stay clear-headed. You'll find suitable coaching offers for more calm in the saddle here.
