A thick winter jacket looks warm, but it often restricts you: your arms are stiff and checking over your shoulder becomes hard work. Layering with several thin layers usually keeps you warmer – and lets you move freely.
The layering principle
- Base layer: Technical underwear that wicks moisture away from your body.
- Mid-layer: Fleece or a thin down vest for warmth.
- Outer layer: Your motorcycle jacket with armour to protect against wind and weather.
Freedom of movement is safety. If you sit warm and free, you stay relaxed – you'll find suitable coaching offers for more calm in the saddle here.
