On mountain roads the straights are short, visibility is limited and a motorhome is crawling up the hairpins ahead of you. Impatience grows with every corner. That's exactly when risky overtakes happen.
Staying calm in the mountains
- Know the good spots: Only overtake where you can see far enough and the road is wide.
- Drop back: Following closely means you see less and put yourself under pressure.
- Take a break: Sometimes a short stop at a viewpoint is the best solution – afterwards the road is clear.
Calm when overtaking can be trained. If impatience pushes you into risky manoeuvres, let's talk about it in a Focus Session.
