On gravel, the bike moves. The rear pushes a little, the front dances – and your head screams: danger! Yet this movement is often perfectly normal on loose ground.

Making peace with sliding

  • Allow the movement: A loose grip lets the bike do its job. Holding on tight amplifies the unrest.
  • Keep your eyes up: Keep looking where you want to go, even if it feels unsettled.
  • Start small: Short, flat gravel stretches at low speed build confidence.

The fear of sliding is one of the core topics in Offroad Mindset. You'll find all the details in my coaching offers.
