Tyre pressure is one of the most underrated factors on a motorcycle. Even a small deviation noticeably changes the handling – the bike turns in sluggishly or feels nervous. And if you can't rely on your bike, you ride tense.
Keeping your pressure under control
- Measure cold: Check the pressure before riding, while the tyres are cold. Heat and riding make it rise.
- Use the manufacturer's values: You'll find the correct figures in the owner's manual or on the frame of your bike.
- Check regularly: Ideally every one to two weeks and before every longer tour.
