Flow in the saddle feels fantastic. But just when everything feels easy, overconfidence sometimes creeps in: a little faster, braking a little later. Being truly in the zone doesn't mean switching off your attention – it means having it fully on the road.

Flow with an alert mind

  • Calm, not careless: Notice whether you feel relaxed or overconfident. It's an important difference.
  • Quick checks: Ask yourself now and then: am I still looking far enough ahead? Do I have reserves?
  • Stop in time: When your concentration fades, a break is the best way to keep the flow.
