Route Planner
Plan your motorcycle tour worldwide (also for 125cc, 50cc, bike and car): click on the map to lay out the route point by point. The planner prefers country and back roads, with a twistiness slider on request, shows distance, riding time and climbing, and gives you the tour as a GPX for your sat nav – or straight as a Route Film.
- Search start, destination and stops by place, address or coordinates, or set them by clicking the map; every waypoint is named automatically
- Four riding styles: twisty, extra twisty, fast with motorways, adventure with gravel
- Twistiness slider (beta): levels 3 to 5 pick the twistiest of up to eight variants per section, at most 10, 25 or 50 % longer than the shortest
- Compare riding styles: riding time, bends, motorway, climbing and gravel side by side
- Vehicles: motorcycle, 125cc, 50cc moped, mountain bike, trekking bike, car and off-roader, each with its own profile and speed
- Avoid motorways, tolls, ferries and unpaved roads, differently per section if you like
- Own riding style, straight line (ferry, car train, track) or spots to avoid per section
- Round-trip generator with length or riding time and direction
- Elevation profile with gradient (steep spots from 12 % coloured), share of unpaved and twisty roads, number of passes
- Line colours per day and section (your own choice), by road type (motorway, main, country and minor road, unpaved, ferry) or by curviness
- Map layer "Twisty roads" to find good roads
- Daily stages with overnight stops, rest days, breaks, the time at every waypoint and suggestions for places to stay
- Tour check: fuel gaps, arriving after sunset, daily limit, closures, winter passes, tolls, zones and ferries at a glance
- Passes and closures in the Alps, avoided automatically if you like; motorcycle bans checked against the time you pass
- Weather warnings along the whole route and on passes
- Check your fuel range, fuel stations with their opening hours at your arrival
- Ferries are included automatically: the crossing time is part of the riding time, the list shows length and a timetable link, also in the roadbook
- Notes on tolls, vignettes and low emission zones for the countries on the route, with special toll sections, the Tyrolean noise ban and a link to buy online
- Compulsory equipment and motorcycle rules for over 20 countries
- Notes anywhere along the tour
- Import your own GPX tracks unchanged, including multi-day tours, with GPX tools to trim, thin out, repair and split
- GPX export as track, route or both, for Garmin Zumo and BMW Navigator with via and shaping points per day
- Printable roadbook: A4 or tank bag, with times, passes, closures, fuel stops, weather and notes on tolls and low emission zones
- Share tours via link, or embed the route as a map, elevation profile or key figures on your own website
- Free account without a password: your tours, imported tracks and settings on all your devices
- Open as a Route Film in one click
Twisty means big roads and towns are avoided. The router does not count the bends themselves; that is what the twistiness slider and the "Twisty" tile are for.
Only the waypoints and settings are sent to our own server in Switzerland for the calculation; nothing is stored or logged there. Our server forwards place searches and automatic waypoint names to Photon (komoot) and weather requests (coordinates rounded to about 1 km) to MET Norway, without your IP address. Your tours stay in this browser unless you are logged in and explicitly save them to your account or share a track by link (it is then kept on our server for one year).
