If you can balance confidently at walking pace, you have more control at higher speeds too. Slow riding is unspectacular – and that's exactly why it's one of the most effective exercises for calm on a motorcycle.
A simple exercise
- Pick a spot: An empty car park, a straight line, no audience.
- As slowly as possible: Ride the line at walking pace and try to keep your feet on the pegs.
- Stay loose: Knees lightly against the tank, eyes forward, arms relaxed. Wobbling is allowed.
Calm at low speed carries over into every other situation. If you notice how much tension you're holding, my Focus Sessions start right there.
