A classic: you stare at the pothole – and hit it. The bike goes where you look. Life works much the same way: if you only look at the obstacle, you won't find the gap.

Look at the gap

  • Target, not obstacle: Look where you want to go.
  • Decide early: The earlier your eyes find the gap, the calmer you react.
  • Your hands follow: Your hands follow your eyes – almost automatically.
