Your knees belong on the tank, not in the wind. Gripping the tank with your knees gives you stability and takes the load off your arms – leaving them free for fine, calm steering inputs.

The knee grip

  • Light pressure: Your knees hold the tank without tensing up.
  • Relieve your arms: Feel your shoulders and hands loosen.
  • Use it in corners: The outside knee gives support, your upper body stays calm.

Riding technique is best deepened on a recognised rider safety course. For the mental side, you'll find suitable coaching offers here.
