Stop-and-go traffic is more exhausting for many riders than any mountain pass. Constant pulling away and stopping, feet down all the time – and impatience on top. This is exactly where slow-riding practice pays off.

Calm in stop-and-go traffic

  • Creep instead of stopping: With a gentle clutch and a light touch of the rear brake, you keep rolling slowly instead of stopping all the time.
  • Leave space: A little more room to the vehicle ahead gives you time and calm.
  • Notice your impatience: When you get irritated, breathe out consciously. The queue won't move faster if you get annoyed.

Calm at low speed carries over into every other situation. My Focus Sessions start right there.
